तन मन धन सबस वारि फागुन रंगभरी। चन्द्रकला विमलादि सखी सब देति रँगीली गारी॥ दशरथ राजकुमार छैल तब जनकसुता दिशि देखि बरजहुँ अपनी अलिन को न तो होइहै धूम निरोषि॥ तब हँसि कही लली लालन तुम नेक अनेकन नारि रसिककिशोरमनि सोंच सही तब गारी कौन बिचारी॥ एड़ु मुसुकाय श्याम नव नागर चतुर कला समुदाय कुंकुम की पिचकारी रंगन उर गुलाल मौन धराय॥ बेटी मृदु मुसुक्यात छवीली मन भाई यह बात। मलि गुलाल पिय मंडल पै युगलप्रिया बलिजात॥

Offer body, mind, wealth and all one owns to Phalguna's colour. Chandrakala, Vimala and every companion sing colourful teasing songs. When Dasharatha's handsome prince looks toward Janaka's daughter, he is warned to restrain his companions or an unbounded tumult will erupt. Lali laughs: 'Beloved, you are one among many women—clever jewel among rasikas, why worry over their teasing?' The clever young dark lover smiles, sprays saffron colour, presses gulal to their breasts and leaves them speechless. His daughter-like darling smiles gently, pleased by it all; Yugalapriya rubs gulal upon the Beloved's circle and gives herself away.
