Fresh English translation

On Kamala's bank in Kanchanavana the coloured array for Holi has been prepared. 'Come, darling of Raghu's line—Janaka's daughter calls you.' The wonderful jewelled mango-bower gives supreme joy; in perpetual spring its vines and trees bloom so richly that sight itself becomes confused. Hearing the call, Rama rises, intoxicated by beauty, places an arm around her neck and smiles. Seeing Chandrakala's fortune and splendour, even Shachi and Lakshmi grow eager. Filled with festive colour, the Beloved approaches Yugalapriya; Lali applies gulal to his dark cheek and its beauty opens. Many instruments sound and the companions sing together. Yugalapriya watches their embrace and joyfully plays the mridanga.
