अवध की भूमि सोहावन जानी। अरुण पीत सित मणिमय राजति रसिकन दृग लपटानी॥ श्रीसरयू सब सरित सिरोमनि वेद पुरान बखानी। जहाँ नित्य बिलसत पिय प्यारी बन प्रमोद सुख खानी॥ जिनके युगल बिहार कथा निति तिन यह पथ पहिचानी। युगलप्रिया निसि बासर ध्यावति रीझि रीझि सुखमानी॥

Know Ayodhya's ground as lovely: it shines with red, yellow and white gems and captures rasikas' eyes. Veda and Purana praise Shri Sarayu as the crown of all rivers, for in Pramodavana, the mine of joy, the Beloved Pair eternally sports. One who daily hears of their paired play recognises this path. Delighted again and again, Yugalapriya meditates on it night and day.
