My mind is caught in Yamuna's grove, while over Mithila's ground a mass of rasa flows. This is no ordinary daughter of the Sun but a beginningless sacred ground, Himalaya's daughter wedded into Nimi's line and abiding in one form beside Siya. Its liquid rasa burns away the heartache of rasikas. Like a pearl garland across Jambudvipa, trees line both banks beneath the night; ketaki, rose and champaka bloom as garlands of bowers. Yamuna manifests the rasikas' joy for the meeting of the Beloved Pair. Girija's dear sister is enthroned here, as the ancient Vishnu Purana declares. This is the rasikas' teaching, those immersed in Agrasvami's colour of rasa. Seeing Rama's abode there, Yugalapriya repeats 'Yamuna, Yamuna' through all eight watches.
