बलि जाउँ हौं राम गुसाई। कीजै कृपा आपनी नाई॥ १॥ परमारथ सुरपुर-साधन सब स्वारथ सुखद भलाई। कलि सकोप लोपी सुचाल, निज कठिन कुचाल चलाई॥ २॥ जहँ जहँ चित चितवत हित, तहँ नित नव विषाद अधिकाई। रुचि-भावती भभरि भागहिं, समुहाहिं अमित अनभाई॥ ३॥ आधि-मगन मन, ब्याधि-बिकल तन, बचन मलीन झुठाई। एतेहुँ पर तुमसों तुलसीकी प्रभु सकल सनेह सगाई॥ ४॥

I am your sacrifice, Lord Rama. Show grace according to your own nature. (1) All the disciplines that bring the highest good, heaven, self-interest, happiness, and welfare—angry Kali has erased their good ways and set his own harsh crooked way in motion. (2) Wherever the mind looks for its good, ever-new grief increases there. The things pleasing to taste flee in panic, while boundless unwelcome things crowd near. (3) The mind is submerged in anxiety, the body distraught with disease, and speech impure with falsehood. Despite all this, Lord, all Tulsi’s loving kinship remains with you. (4)
