राम राम जपु जिय सदा सानुराग रे। कलि न बिराग, जोग, जाग, तप, त्याग रे॥ १॥ राम सुमिरत सब बिधि ही को राज रे। रामको बिसारिबो निषेध-सिरताज रे॥ २॥ राम-नाम महामनि, फनि जगजाल रे। मनि लिये फनि जियै, ब्याकुल बिहाल रे॥ ३॥ राम-नाम कामतरु देत फल चारि रे। कहत पुरान, बेद, पंडित, पुरारि रे॥ ४॥ राम-नाम प्रेम-परमारथको सार रे। राम-नाम तुलसीको जीवन-अधार रे॥ ५॥
Heart, ever chant ‘Rama, Rama’ with love. In Kali, dispassion, yoga, sacrifice, austerity and renunciation have no power. (1) Remembering Rama is king over every injunction; forgetting Rama is the crown of all prohibitions. (2) Rama’s name is the great jewel, and the net of the world is the serpent. When the jewel is taken, the serpent lives on distraught and undone. (3) Rama’s name is a wish-fulfilling tree that gives the four fruits—so declare the Puranas, Vedas, learned people and Shiva. (4) Rama’s name is the essence of love and the supreme goal; Rama’s name is the very support of Tulsi’s life. (5)
