Raga Bhairava—Tongue, delight in ‘Rama, Rama,’ repeat ‘Rama, Rama,’ chant ‘Rama, Rama.’ Mind, stubbornly become the rain-bird for the ever-new cloud of love that is Rama’s name. (1) Renounce hope in the wells, rivers, lakes and ocean-waters of all disciplines and their fruits. Thirst with love only for the blessed nectar-drop of Svati—the love of Rama’s name. (2) The cloud thunders and threatens, rains hail and lightning, testing the bird’s love until it knows its heart. As yearning rises ever higher in the breast, it recognizes love’s ultimate measure. (3) Make Rama’s name your refuge and understanding; become enamored of Rama’s name. Those who have been, are now, or will become so are the ones counted supremely fortunate in the three worlds. (4) Journey on this inaccessible single-minded path; do not delay at every moment for a patch of shade. Tulsi, your welfare lies in faithfully keeping, from your own side, this vow without ulterior condition. (5)
