Lord—Vindumadhava, source of every happiness, sanctifier of Anandavana, remover of calamities born of the pairs of opposites: the lotus of your feet becomes a dwelling for the bee-like Brahma, Shiva, Sanaka and his brothers, Shuka, Shesha and the company of sages. (1) Stainless emerald-dark Lord, with the beauty of a hundred crores of Loves, your yellow cloth flashes like lightning against a blue cloud. Your eyes are red hundred-petalled lotuses, your glance lovely; you give joy to those who bow and your nature is tender with compassion. (2) Lion against the elephant of Time, fire burning the forest of demon-lords, sun against the night of delusion; four-armed, bearing discus, Kaumodaki, lotus and conch—the conch in your hand is like a royal swan upon a lotus. (3) Crown, earrings and forehead-mark; locks like a swarm of bees; arched brows, teeth, excellent lips and lovely nose; handsome cheeks and conch-like neck, the boundary of happiness—Hari, your sweet smile is like moonbeams and jasmine. (4) On your breast an immense forest garland with fresh flower-clusters and the noble mark of Shrivatsa shine. Supremely devoted to Brahmins, greatly blessed, beyond anger, unborn, immeasurably strong, your vast glory has no shore. (5) Necklace and armlets, golden bracelets on your hands, and a gem-set jeweled girdle at your waist; anklets on your paired feet call like graceful swans, while every limb and your whole attire are beautiful. (6) At your right, endowed with every good fortune, sits the lovely daughter of the ocean, the splendor of the three worlds. You dwell in a fine mansion near the bank of the celestial river; people whose eyes behold you are exceedingly blessed. (7) Abode of every blessing, dispeller of dense doubt, subduer of the forest of sin and remover of distress; sustainer and benefactor of the world, unconquered, beyond the senses, auspicious, preserver, destroyer and creator of the world. (8) Treasury of knowledge, realization, dispassion and sovereignty, munificent giver of the great powers beginning with anima: the serpent of becoming has swallowed Tulsidas, who is terribly afraid. Save me, Shri Rama, rider of the serpent’s foe! (9)
