धामोत्कण्ठा दोहा श्रीसियराम सनेहनिधि अवधधाम अभिराम ॥ निखिल निकाई नाइप्रद सेवत सब सुखसाम ॥१॥ मन-बच-वपु श्रीधाम मघि कब बसिहौं सुख-संग ॥ देखत दृग दुति दिव्य महि मोदमयी रंग-रंग ॥२॥ श्रीविमला-वैभव विमल बरनत बदन सप्रेम ॥ अचल निवास सजाइहौं संतत सजि निज नेम ॥३॥ श्रीसाकेत सुधासदन मनिमय महल निहारि ॥ निशि-दिन निमिष-समान कब बितवैहौं दुखदारि ॥४॥ श्रीसीतावर रसरसिक तरु तृण गुल्म लतान ॥ निरखि नेहयुत नाथिहौं संविहाय भव-भान ॥५॥ श्रीसत्या भूरुह विशद रसद रंग रमनीय ॥ सफल सुमन पल्लव निरखि बिसरैहौं तम-तीय ॥६॥ शोभा-सर-धाम-मधि मगन होय दिन-रैन ॥ विविध वासना निदरिहौं सुमिरत सदन सुखैन ॥७॥ खान-पान-सनमान सब हान जानि अनुमानि ॥ श्रीकोशला समीप बिन निखिल लाह दुख-खानि ॥८॥ श्रीसरयू-जल-पान करि रहिहौं हरष-समेत ॥ असन रसन चित-चाह नहिं करिहौं कबहुँ जनेत ॥९॥
Fresh English translation
[1] Lovely Ayodhyā, treasury of Śrī Sītā-Rāma's affection, grants the highest good to every being; serving it is the essence of all happiness. [2] When shall I dwell happily in the sacred Abode with mind, speech, and body, my eyes seeing divine radiance and the earth filled with joy's many colours? [3] Lovingly describing the stainless glory of sacred Vimalā, I shall establish an unwavering residence and forever adorn myself with my vow. [4] Gazing upon Sāketa, abode of nectar, and its jeweled palaces, when shall night and day pass like a moment, taking sorrow away? [5] Lovingly beholding the trees, grasses, shrubs, and vines that are rasikas of Śrī Sītā's Lord's rasa, I shall bow to them and abandon worldly awareness. [6] Seeing the lucid, rasa-giving, beautifully coloured trees of sacred Satyā, with their fruit, flowers, and leaves, I shall forget the darkness of the threefold world. [7] Absorbed day and night in the Abode, a lake of beauty, I shall reject diverse desires while remembering that dwelling of joy. [8] Food, drink, and honour are all losses; without nearness to sacred Kosalā, every gain is a mine of sorrow. [9] Drinking sacred Sarayū's water, I shall remain filled with joy and never let the heart desire other food or flavours.
