Fresh English translation
[1] When shall I listen in concentrated meditation, immersed in a great ocean of joy, to the lucid, rasa-giving virtues of Sītā's Lord—the life of the loving mind? [2] Hearing that lovely fame again and again, when shall I become astonished and dance like deer and peacock, disregarding the body's dark lord? [3] When shall I sing virtues great beyond the reach of even the guru's speech, abandoning doubt about metre and recognizing the heart's love and affection? [4] Hearing the virtues, my body thrilled, voice choked, and eyes pouring tears, I shall sing them with my tongue and burn away worldly shame. [5] When will the wondrous cloudbank of compassion and grace rain in the middle of the land of my mind, forever giving satisfaction and making it utterly pure? [6] When shall I constantly contemplate the divine qualities—parental tenderness, gracious conduct, purity, joy, and accessibility—and abandon worldly entanglement? [7] Hearing through the ears of the radiant excellent qualities, seeds within the mass of knowledge of the attributeless and attributed, I shall overflow like a woman at her beloved's arrival. [8] I shall immerse the mind among the auspicious and accessible qualities of Sītā's Beloved, and my mind will rejoice immensely, like a pauper receiving fine wealth. [9] Tasting again and again the thousandfold nectar of the sweet Lord's auspicious qualities that give Śrī Sītā happiness, I shall rejoice in rasa and disregard worldly guise born of attachment.
