Fresh English translation
[30] Losing interest in speech-making and in sustaining the body for its own sake, when will I steady the mind, stay wakeful, and repeat the treasury of love for the Name? [31] When will I selflessly worship the dear dust of the lotus feet of the person whose tongue is adorned throughout the world by the world-delighting Name? [32] Casting away the three desires for worldly pleasure, display, and recognition, when will I surrender myself and remain absorbed in the happiness of the Name? [33] Forgetting honour and prestige—a terrible load of poison and distortion—I shall hold supreme joy and make my tongue repeat the Name, treasury of delight. [34] When will I remain beside the feet of rasika saints who reveal the Name's supremacy, free of pride and self-regard, with love shining at every moment? [35] As the tree is contained in its seed, the Lord of syllables abides among the many Vedic ordinances; when will I contemplate and behold that excellent presence with a joyful heart? [36] Regarding home, family, status, and their many afflictions as grievous disease, I shall abandon them like straw and vow to repeat the nectar-ocean Name. [37] Seeing the world's glittering condition with eye and heart and knowing its apparent heaven, I shall despise it like poison and remain absorbed in the treasury of rasa. [38] Reflecting upon food, drink, honour, spouse, and children as transformations, I shall fearlessly repeat the Name, losing bodily self-consciousness in the happiness that defeats sorrow. [39] Again and again declaring worldly shame mere dust and contemptible, I shall adorn love for the Name and make the kingdom of the mind radiant. [40] Dwelling in an excellent solitary grove, abandoning dark association with the three qualities, I shall repeat the Name without selfish desire and greatly increase my joy.
