English Translation
This is why such a game was set in motion: no direction has been left out. All that exists is my kin kin; the root of any impurity cannot be found. Having been introduced and given over all at once, I see no second thing, no inequality. Says Tuka, there is no entanglement with Death; apart from God, there is neither condition nor understanding.
We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.
In Plain Words
This is why the whole game was set up like this: no direction was left out. Everything that exists is my own kin. I cannot find any root of impurity anywhere. He introduced me to it all at once, and now I see no second thing, no high and no low. Tuka says: there is no snare in Death for me. Apart from God there is no state and no mind.
What it means
Tukaram is describing what the world looks like once the eye no longer divides it. The cosmos is a game God set in motion, and not one corner of it is left outside that play. So everything is his own family, and he can find no source for impurity anywhere, because impurity was only ever a way of cutting one thing off from another. Shown the whole at once, he sees no second thing and no ranking of higher over lower. With nothing held apart, death has no hook to catch him; only God remains, and there is no separate condition or mind left over.
The Necessity of Experience
Why direct experience of God, not mere learning, is the only path.
