English Translation

I am no longer in any way weak, of low station, or forlorn. Mother Rakhumai and Father Panduranga stand on both sides, and both lineages are pure. I am not helpless, feeble, or small; who else could I be pawned off to? I am not wicked, unlucky, or orphaned, for my champion and protector is almighty. The whole of worldly existence has been settled for me, and even Death now hides in fear. Says Tuka, my mind is completely at ease, for I have amassed a great treasure of joy.

In Plain Words

Now I am in no way weak, low-born, or wretched. Mother Rakhumai and Father Panduranga stand on both sides of me, and both lineages are pure. I am not helpless, feeble, or small. To whom could I be handed over? I am not wicked, unlucky, or orphaned. My champion and protector is almighty. The whole of worldly life is settled for me now. Even Death hides in fear. Tuka says: my mind is wholly at ease, for I have gathered a great heap of joy.

What it means

Tukaram throws off every name shame would put on him: weak, low-born, orphaned, unlucky. His ground for this is not his own merit but his parentage; Rakhumai is his mother and Panduranga his father, so both sides of his family are pure and almighty. Because such a protector stands over him, the whole anxious account of worldly existence is closed, and even Death, the last terror, hides from him. The poem ends in settled ease: having such a refuge is itself a treasure of joy, so there is nothing left to fear and nothing left to prove.
