Fresh English translation

As rain falls in driving showers, says Rasarangmani, dear Sia speaks these words to her Beloved: ‘Make ready! With the sovereign connoisseur and playful lover, and with the joy-giving companions, I too am ready. Let them swing me, reveling in color and making the celebration resound; let us sing the monsoon Malhar. On Sarayu’s bank every grove has flowered, rooted in delight and favorable to love—the season of the swing has come.’
