सत्त्वं रजस्तमश्चेति गुणास्त्रयइमे प्रिये । स्वभावः प्रकृतेरेव न जीवपरयोः पुनः ॥ २९॥

sattvaṃ rajastamaśceti guṇāstraya_ime priye | svabhāvaḥ prakṛtereva na jīvaparayoḥ punaḥ || 29||

Sattva, rajas, and tamas are these three guṇas, dear one. They are the intrinsic nature of prakṛti alone, not of the individual self or the Supreme.
