णिजर्थोप्यत्र बोधव्यः शब्द स्वारस्य कारणम् । कर्त्तर्प्यपि ह्यचः प्राप्तौ न किञ्चिदपि बोधकम् ॥ ८॥

ṇijarthopyatra bodhavyaḥ śabda svārasya kāraṇam | karttarpyapi hyacaḥ prāptau na kiñcidapi bodhakam || 8||

The causative force of ṇic must also be understood here, for it accounts for the word's natural beauty. A merely agentive derivation from the suffix ac would convey nothing adequate when applied to him.
