Chapter 18 · Verse 116

नित्यत्वादात्मनो जन्मविरुद्धं कथमिष्यते । पारमार्थिक भेदेन भोक्तृभोग्यस्वरूपयोः ॥ ११६॥

nityatvādātmano janmaviruddhaṃ kathamiṣyate | pāramārthika bhedena bhoktṛbhogyasvarūpayoḥ || 116||

English

Because the self is eternal, how could a birth contrary to that eternality be accepted? Rather, there is a real distinction between the essential forms of the enjoyer and the enjoyed.
