विशेषेण तु साध्यत्वे स्वरूपे भेद आपतेत् । शृङ्गारस्य विशेषत्वादात्मत्वे कथमस्य तु ॥ ११४॥

viśeṣeṇa tu sādhyatve svarūpe bheda āpatet | śṛṅgārasya viśeṣatvādātmatve kathamasya tu || 114||

If that particular state had to be attained, a difference in essential nature would necessarily follow. Since śṛṅgāra is a particular relation, how could it be merely the self's undifferentiated identity?
