ज्ञेयो दशरथो वेदः साध्य साधन दर्शनः । यज्ञेसौयज्वनां वंशे इक्ष्वाकूणां महात्मनाम् ॥ ४२॥

jñeyo daśaratho vedaḥ sādhya sādhana darśanaḥ | yajñesauyajvanāṃ vaṃśe ikṣvākūṇāṃ mahātmanām || 42||

Daśaratha is to be known as the Veda, which reveals both the goal and the means. He manifests as sacrifice in the lineage of the great Ikṣvākus, performers of sacrifice.
