दृष्टिदोष विनाशार्थं लक्ष्मेन्दौ विधिना धृतम् । अभावभावपुष्ट्यै च मानोऽस्यां विनिवेशितः ॥ ५४॥

dṛṣṭidoṣa vināśārthaṃ lakṣmendau vidhinā dhṛtam | abhāvabhāvapuṣṭyai ca māno'syāṃ viniveśitaḥ || 54||
English
‘The Creator placed a mark upon the moon to correct the defect of vision; likewise, māna was placed in her līlā to strengthen loving feeling through the play of apparent absence and presence.’
