Chapter 13 · Verse 51

पद्मिनी पद्मबन्धौ तु तपत्येवातपं सती । भजन्ती स्वगुणानेव स्वभावं न च मुञ्चति ॥ ५१॥

padminī padmabandhau tu tapatyevātapaṃ satī | bhajantī svaguṇāneva svabhāvaṃ na ca muñcati || 51||

English

‘A lotus remains true to its own qualities and never abandons its nature, even while the sun—kinsman of the lotus—scorches it with heat.’
