कामार्त्तापि रतिं कालं नेच्छामीच्छानुगाविना । तस्मात्कालेति वर्त्तेहं कान्तं कालेति भाषणम् ॥ ५५॥

kāmārttāpi ratiṃ kālaṃ necchāmīcchānugāvinā | tasmātkāleti varttehaṃ kāntaṃ kāleti bhāṣaṇam || 55||
English
Kālā said to her beloved, ‘Though afflicted by desire, I do not seek love-play at an improper time; I follow his wish, and therefore I am known here as Kālā, she who understands the proper moment.’
