शृङ्गारः केवलो न स्यात्केवलो वा वरः पुमान् । शृङ्गार्येव पुमर्थः स्याद्रसस्थिति रितीर्यते ॥ ४७॥

śṛṅgāraḥ kevalo na syātkevalo vā varaḥ pumān | śṛṅgāryeva pumarthaḥ syādrasasthiti ritīryate || 47||
English
‘Śṛṅgāra cannot exist by itself, nor can even the highest person remain isolated from it. The true human and divine goal is the one who embodies śṛṅgāra, for rasa exists only through such a living locus.’
