महाविष्णुरुवाच कस्मादाविरहं तात केन वा जनिरुत्तमा । किं मूलं किमधिष्ठानं कुत एव समागतः ॥ ५ ॥
Mahāviṣṇu said: Father, from whom did I appear, and through whom came this exalted birth? What is my root, what is my foundation, and from where have I come?
