Completion and Colophon

Five concluding dohas record the contemplative setting, composition, and dates of completion.

On the wedding day of Śrī Jānakīkiśorī, the festive assembly was adorned. Many saints and devotees gathered there, and the sovereign fullness of rasa flowed among them.

On the bank of Śrī Gaṅgā he found a delightful place and established a secluded grove. In that inner bower at Chhaprā he meditated upon the very same divine assembly.

As he continued this inward contemplation, wondrous joy arose in an extraordinary dream. He composed this new garland of devotees, a root of every auspicious blessing.

The verse records its date in Vikrama Saṃvat eighteen hundred and ninety-six, on the fifth day in the month of Makara: on that beautiful day this new and truthful sacred praise appeared.

On the bright ninth of Māgha in Saṃvat eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, the birthday of Navalakiśorī, the Rasika Prakāśa attained its fullness in stainless delight.
