[The mūla-tāla song continues:] ‘—he has fallen under the sway of that intoxicated one.’ (1) ‘At the lift of her nose and her sidelong glance, he is drenched in streams of rasa. Kṛpānivāsa says: pride and longing unfold the life-breath of the playful Lord.’ (27) ‘Let me sleep, beloved; little of the night remains. Kṛpānivāsa says: young Sīyā laughs a little and sharpens her eyes.’ Rāga Sorõ, mūla tāla: ‘My eyes, beholding him, are entangled with the handsome, beautiful beloved—tell me how to free them. Kṛpānivāsa says: once one drinks this excellent nectar, why drink water again? Friend, I will win you over and take you along. My heart desires Rāma's appearance; love has worked its marvel. Kṛpānivāsa—’ [the song continues on the next page].
