Fresh English translation

[The Mūlatāla song continues:] ‘—the beloved becomes pleased; I offer myself in sacrifice. Proud lady, do not persist in your māna. As a fish belongs to water and a bee to its flower, so does the lord of Ayodhyā belong to you. Kṛpānivāsa says: beloved, abandon sadness and false shame—I offer myself to you.’ Cara-carī tāla: ‘Love has fastened itself to you, graceful and fortunate beauty; the dark lover is under your sway, joined to you like cloud and lightning. (1) Like the discerning cātaka longing for the Swāti drop, he thirsts for your virtues and auspicious love.
