Fresh English translation
[The Aḍaṇā song continues:] ‘—beauty. The graceful one sits swaying upon waves of the intoxication of māna; no one can describe her form. (1) Her proud intention is manifest, utterly discerning; desire rises, and an incomparable color mounts Hari's limbs. Victory to the image of grace and favor, life-giving beauty of sovereign Śrī Rāma.’ Mūlatāla: ‘Beloved, never remain silent like this; when he coaxes you, smile and speak. Why weigh your own heart against the beloved's, when fresh love arises there each day? With no fault committed, why increase your anger? Do not mix poison into rasa. Kṛpānivāsa says: Sīyā is held fast, while the beloved opens the veil's cloth. Anger does not become you within rasa, darling. That tender prince is entitled to your love—smile and meet him, maiden. Your face is the moon, and Bihārī the cakora; joy-giving Kamod has become abundantly manifest. Kṛpānivāsa says: forever Sīyā's beloved—’ [the song continues on the next page].
