॥ अथ श्री जानकी मान लिख्यते ॥ राग कान्हड़ा मूलताल ॥ येरी कछु स्याम सिखाई । सैन करयो मनमान रीमाननीनैं ॥ दुरन लखी प्रीतम की नैननि प्रीत परस्पर जाननीनैं ॥ भौंह चढ़ाय तके हृग धरनी बसना छवि सुखदाननीनैं । कृपानिवास पढ़ति कछु मंतर बसिकरिवैं हरि प्राननीनैं । गहां सुख मौनाधिपायो अंचल चंचलता बिसराई ॥ मनहु मदन ससिपट घन दुरियो चख चकोर विकलाई छबिधारि रसी रस मंडल सखि जुरि करति बढ़ाई ॥ कृपानिवास सिया स्वामिनिको सुखमय मान सदाई ॥ राग नायकी ताल चार ॥ लाडली प्राण जीवन धन रावरी प्यारे मान
Fresh English translation
Then Śrī Jānakī's māna is described. Rāga Kānhṛā, mūlatāla: ‘Friend, dark Śyāma has taught her something; the proud beloved now acts wholly according to her heart. From afar the lovers see and understand the love passing mutually through their eyes. She raises her brows and fixes her gaze, holding within the heart that beauty which gives delight. Kṛpānivāsa says: she recites some spell and brings Hari's very life under her power. She has attained the pleasure of sovereignty through silence and, beneath her veil, forgotten all restlessness. It is as though a cloud has hidden the moon of Love, leaving cakora-like eyes distraught. Bearing beauty, she is steeped in rasa; the gathered companions offer congratulations in the circle of rasa. Kṛpānivāsa says: Sīyā the mistress's māna is forever filled with joy.’ Rāga Nāyakī, four-beat tāla: ‘Darling, your beloved māna is our life, breath, and treasure—’ [the song continues on the next page].
