सौंभरी तेरी अलकैं नागनि आन उर्यो प्यारी परम प्रवनोरी । कृपानिवासी प्यारी सयानी है करि प्रीतम को दुख छीनहोरी । नैननिमैं कछु कीन्हो बसकरवे रंगभीनो ॥ मनो मोहनी मंत्र चलाये मनमोहन हरि लीन्हो ॥१॥ अबही ओर भये पिय ओरहि तियासिर मोर कहा रसदीनो ॥ कृपानिवास हँसी सिय चंचल सुख अंचल धरि झीन्हो ॥ इतिश्री टोना ॥ अथ श्री लालजीको टोना श्री लाडली पर अमत राग मूल ताल ॥ मेरो मन हरीलीनो हेली रसिक सांवरे चोर । चतुर दृगनसों मिलि उर धसिकरे कसिकसि छगनि मरोर । हसिकरि बसिकरि रसिकरि मोसन लाज सबनि कीरोर । कृपानिवास रामछेलाके फेल फसाई मेराजार ॥ स्याम सलोना चीरवारा मुझ
Fresh English translation
[Lāḍalī-jī's spell-song continues:] ‘Beloved, your dark locks, like serpents, have entered and wound about the heart; you are supremely skilled. Kṛpānivāsa says: the clever darling has removed her beloved's pain. With her eyes she did something that brought the one dyed in love under her power. It is as though she cast Mohinī's spell and carried away Manmohana Hari. (1) Just now the lover turned her way, while she turned toward him—what rasa was bestowed upon my head! Kṛpānivāsa says: Sīyā laughed, restless with joy, and seized the edge of his garment.’ Thus Lāḍalī's spell. Then Śrī Lāla-jī's spell upon Śrī Lāḍalī, amat-rāga, mūlatāla: ‘Friend, the dark rasika thief has stolen away my mind. Meeting me with clever eyes, he entered the heart, twisting and turning within. Laughing, subduing, and playing the rasika, he swept away all shame. Kṛpānivāsa says: caught in Rāma the charming one's play, my heart burns.
