Fresh English translation

Rāga Kāfī, mūlatāla: ‘Dark beloved, as you are beheld within your darling's eyes, it is as though the sky, with all its riches gathered in, flashes within the peacock plumes. Bright ornaments gleam upon the head, crown, and cloth; curling locks and restless earrings seem like serpents meeting amid smiles. Flowers and the graceful beauty of the arms enter this vision; the art of the lotus feet shines through the deep red dye upon the nails. Their eyes meet and dart like wagtails among lotus blossoms. Kṛpānivāsa says: the rasika Rāghava's beauty has become ever new and can scarcely be concealed. Hearing her beloved, he manifested from her very eyes and showed his form to those eyes. Smiling, the heart's beloved fulfilled her longing and clasped his darling to his breast. (1) Through the pretext of a glance, the clever companion made this fresh love known and filled it with rasa. Kṛpānivāsa sang the rasa-mystery of Sīyā and her beloved. (2)’
