[The preceding song continues:] Beauty mounts upon beauty; the beloved's host outshines the hosts of Love. (4) Their art is life's very breath; their moonlit radiance is more brilliant than an autumn night. Dwelling in this rāsa, Sītā meets her beloved and sports with him; the companion Kṛpānivāsa's heart is overcome. (6) The two graceful young lovers compose the color of rāsa. Filled with the beauty of youth, they fill the charming circle and steal the heart as the urbane pair dances. (1) Refrain. A garland of voices resounds; fine anklets rise into song and tāna, decisively conquering Love. Cherished Sītā and her beloved give melody and rhythm; gracefully they quiver, the waist darts, and the body bends in quick flashes. (2) With single-minded feeling, hand joined to hand, they kindle the supreme joy of touch and raise secret laughter and play. This hidden līlā dwells in the beloved's heart; whoever beholds it longs to turn back, while the mind is encircled by what it loves. (3) How can the ineffable story be told, or by what method? Hearing and pondering again and again, the yogi who practices knowledge without rasa merely consumes himself. Without the paired lovers' grace of delight, who can attain it, O companion?—[the song continues on the next page].
