[Rāma's vīṇā song continues through] countless tānas and distinctions of rhythm, regular and irregular, then a densely compressed series of musical terms concerning unstruck and generated sound, jāti and svara, followed by distinct rāgas and rāginīs. On the banks of the Sarayū in the autumn night, the moon's radiance scatters brightness. Hearing the melody, gods, humans, sages, and accomplished musicians are astonished; all come running, helpless with delight. Birds and animals grow still, the wind's movement ceases, and beings of water and land are arrested. Kṛpānivāsa says: in delightful Ayodhyā, beloved and lover enact the rāsa. (7) Rāga Kāfī Jangalā. Beloved, let Rāma play the vīṇā. The beautiful Lord of Avadh is filled with compelling magical force; his tones overpower even Cupid.
