An immense milk-white ocean fills the vision. Brahman spreads without shore. Knowledge rises from its center like Mount Mandara, and saints gather as the divine company around the cosmic churning.
From that unfathomable expanse they draw out Rama-katha, nectar made audible. Its sweetness is bhakti. The limitless has become story, name, virtue, remembrance, and love, offered in a form that the listening heart can drink.
The scene changes into a field of battle. Detachment is the shield, knowledge the bright sword, and greed, pride, and delusion stand as enemies before the seeker. Yet the victory won by these weapons is not mere emptiness or isolation. Hari-bhakti crowns the struggle. Garuda is asked to look carefully: knowledge and detachment serve devotion, just as mountain and churning labor serve the arising nectar. Across the blue mountain, the wise birds hear the ocean of Brahman resound in the voice of one ancient crow.
When saints churn the shoreless Absolute, the nectar that rises bears the sweetness of Rama's love.
Read the passage from the Manas
Brahman is the ocean of milk, knowledge is Mount Mandara, saints and gods are the churning rope. They churn and extract the nectar of divine stories, whose sweetness is devotion itself. With detachment as shield and knowledge as sword, slaying the enemies of greed and delusion, victory is won: that is Hari's devotion. Behold and ponder this, O king of birds.
