Tamasic Sacrifice Rises into a Sky That Gives No Rain

Deceit, obstinacy, hypocrisy, hatred, false religion, pride, delusion, and anger fill the brahmanda. The inner weather of Kali spreads until no public or private space seems untouched.
People continue to perform japa, austerity, vows, sacrifice, and charity, but the intention is tamasic. Sacred action is preserved as outer motion while its heart has become dark and corrupt.
The devas withhold rain. Seeds enter the earth but grain does not rise. Bhushundi shows ritual and cosmos bound together through moral quality. Ceremony cannot command blessing when it is used to feed the ego it was meant to purify. Smoke may ascend from the altar, yet the clouds remain closed because offering without truth is only another form of taking. The barren field becomes the visible result of inward barrenness.
The altar smoke climbs, but the sky remains silent and the seed waits in dry earth for a sincerity no ritual can imitate.

सुनु खगेस कलि कपट हठ दंभ द्वेष पाषंड। मान मोह मारादि मद ब्यापि रहे ब्रह्मंड।।101(क)।। तामस धर्म करहिं नर जप तप ब्रत मख दान। देव न बरषहिं धरनीं बए न जामहिं धान।।101(ख)।।
Listen, O king of birds! In Kali Yuga, deceit, obstinacy, hypocrisy, hatred, and false religiosity prevail. Pride, delusion, anger, and other vices have spread throughout the entire universe. People perform worship, penance, vows, sacrifices, and charity with tamasic intentions and corrupt hearts. The gods do not send rain upon the earth, and grains do not grow from what is sown.
