A Pure and Faithful Servant Is Dear wherever Love Can Recognize Love

Rama asks a question whose answer is carried within it. Who would not cherish a servant pure in heart, noble in conduct, and clear in understanding?
The Vedas and Puranas declare this principle. Devotion is not favoritism without moral shape. Purity, character, intelligence, and service gather into a relation worthy of trust.
Bhushundi is asked to listen carefully because the simplicity of the statement may conceal its reach. The Lord who needs nothing treasures the one who offers everything sincerely. What appears as service toward Rama also refines the servant into transparency, allowing love to recognize its own movement without the distortions of deceit and pride. The teaching prepares the image that follows: one father loving many different children equally, yet feeling a distinct closeness to the child whose whole life turns toward him.
Where purity, good conduct, understanding, and service meet, even the Lord of all worlds calls that heart beloved.

सुचि सुसील सेवक सुमति प्रिय कहु काहि न लाग। श्रुति पुरान कह नीति असि सावधान सुनु काग।।86।।
A pure-hearted, virtuous servant of good understanding; tell me, to whom would such a one not be dear? The Vedas and Puranas declare this truth. Listen carefully, O Kaag.
