Shiva confirms that the King of Birds went directly to Bhushundi and placed these very questions before him. Uma's wonder echoes an earlier wonder carried on Garuda's wings.

The dialogue she wishes to understand already contains the same inquiry: why a crow, how such knowledge, and what history brought wisdom and form together?

Shiva promises to narrate it all with reverence. Listen with the whole mind, O Uma. The command gathers attention before the story changes level and enters another ancient telling. Speaker, listener, and remembered speakers begin to nest within one another: Shiva to Uma, Bhushundi to Garuda, and the lineage through which Rama-katha travels without losing its sacred center.

Uma stills her mind as Shiva opens the story within the story and follows Garuda toward the crow-sage's dwelling.

Read the passage from the Manas

ऐसिअ प्रस्न बिहंगपति कीन्ह काग सन जाइ। सो सब सादर कहिहउँ सुनहु उमा मन लाइ।।55।।

Such questions did the king of birds put to the crow, going to him directly. I shall relate all of it with reverence. Listen with full attention, O Uma.
