A Human Form Cannot Conceal a Heart Devoted to Harming Others

Rama names four movements of degradation: hostility toward others, desire for another's spouse, seizure of another's wealth, and delight in spreading another's disgrace.
Each turns outward toward what belongs to someone else, not in service or reverence, but in injury, appropriation, and accusation. Human intelligence becomes the instrument of appetite rather than dharma.
Those who live through these movements may carry a human body, yet Rama calls them demons embodied as people. Appearance alone does not establish humanity. The deeper measure is whether one recognizes the dignity, relation, and rightful boundary of another life. When the body is human but the heart feeds upon others, the form becomes a disguise rather than a fulfillment.
Humanity is not secured by shape when the heart has made another person's life its field of plunder.

पर द्रोही पर दार रत पर धन पर अपबाद। ते नर पाँवर पापमय देह धरें मनुजाद।।39।।
Those who harm others, who covet others' wives, who grab others' wealth, who spread others' infamy. Such wretched, sinful people are demons in human form. They have the body of humans but the nature of rakshasas. Do not be fooled by appearance.
