Inside every home, a beautiful gallery has been prepared with care. Walls no longer end the rooms. They open into painted forests, rivers, palaces, roads, and gatherings from the life of Rama.
The residents live surrounded by sacred memory. A glance toward a wall becomes another meeting with the Lord's deeds, and domestic space turns quietly into a place of contemplation.
Even sages pause before these images. The painted Ramcharit steals their minds, drawing attention out of abstraction and into the visible gestures of lila. The theft is grace. Nothing valuable is lost, for the mind is taken only from its wandering and given to Rama. Ayodhya's artists have made each house a treasury of remembered scenes, so that the story lives not only in recitation but in color before the eyes.
In Ayodhya, even a painted Rama can steal a sage's mind and leave it resting inside the lila.
