Shatrughna embraces Lakshmana and the pain born from unbearable separation ends. Bharata bows at Sita's feet, and both younger brothers receive the supreme happiness of reunion.
The citizens look upon Rama and every calamity created by absence dissolves. Seeing the whole city overcome with love, the compassionate destroyer of Khara performs a wonder. Countless forms of Rama appear at once.
The Lord meets each person in the manner fitting that heart. His gracious gaze removes the sorrow of every man and woman, and within a moment Bhagavan has met them all. Shiva tells Uma that no one understands the secret. The infinite does not divide when it gives itself to each devotee. Every citizen receives Rama's full attention without taking him from another, and the crowded homecoming becomes countless intimate meetings held inside one undiminished presence.
Rama becomes as many as love requires, yet every heart receives the whole Lord and none receives a fragment.
Read the passage from the Manas
Bharat's younger brother Shatrughna then embraced Lakshmana, and the unbearable pain born of separation was wiped away. Bharat bowed his head at Sita's feet, and together with his younger brother, attained supreme happiness. Seeing the Lord, the citizens rejoiced, and all the sorrows born of separation were destroyed. Beholding all the people overcome with love, the Compassionate One performed a gracious wonder. By His maya He assumed as many forms as there were people, so that each one felt the Lord was meeting them alone. Every man, woman, and child embraced their own Rama and wept with joy. No one noticed this marvellous play of divine power, for each heart was lost in its own private ecstasy. Such is the glory of Raghupati: He makes each devotee feel that they alone are His beloved.
