Rama Names the Devotees Who Are as Dear to Him as Life

Rama describes the people he holds as close as his own breath. They worship the Lord in manifest form, allowing love to gather around a face, a name, a voice, and the lotus feet visible to the heart.
Their worship does not end before an image. It moves outward as tireless care for the welfare of others. Their conduct remains steady when convenience changes, and sacred vows hold their lives in shape when desire pulls in another direction.
They also carry love for the feet of the learned and the spiritually awakened. Devotion, service, ethical firmness, disciplined observance, and reverence stand together in Rama's portrait. Such people do not merely receive his approval from afar. He tells the gathered army that they are as dear to him as his own life.
The life dearest to Rama joins worship of his form with steadfast care for every being.

सगुन उपासक परहित निरत नीति दृढ़ नेम। ते नर प्रान समान मम जिन्ह कें द्विज पद प्रेम।।48।।
"Those who worship the Lord in His manifest form, who are devoted to the welfare of others, firm in ethics and sacred vows, who cherish love for the feet of the learned, such people are as dear to Me as My own life."
