Hanuman Remembers Mercy and Cannot Keep Tears from His Eyes

Hanuman calls Vibhishana friend and places himself below every claim of worthiness. He is lowly, he says, yet Raghubira has shown mercy even upon him.
The statement does not remain an idea. Memory turns toward the virtues of the Lord who found, embraced, trusted, and sent him across the sea.
His eyes fill with water. Vibhishana remains beside him as the tears gather. In the hidden devotee's house, the mighty servant who crossed the ocean is overcome not by danger but by recollection of grace. Strength stands still while tears complete the confession.
The ocean-crossing hero remembers Rama's mercy, and his eyes become the place where gratitude overflows.

"Listen, friend. I am so lowly, yet Raghuvir has shown mercy even upon me." Remembering the Lord's virtues, Hanuman's eyes filled with tears of love.
