Hanuman Touches Mainaka but Refuses Rest before Rama's Work Is Done

Mainaka stands above the waves as the ocean's generous invitation. The mountain offers height, support, and a place where the flying messenger might release the strain of the immense crossing.
Hanuman does not reject the kindness. He reaches out, touches Mainaka with his hand, and bows in respect. Gratitude is given without allowing comfort to alter the direction of the vow.
How can there be rest before Rama's work is completed? The servant asks the question and continues through the sky. The offered mountain recedes beneath him, honored but unused, while Sita's unseen sorrow remains stronger than fatigue.
Hanuman honors the mountain with his hand, but Rama's unfinished work will not let his body rest.
