Raghuvira calls the fierce vanaras into the struggle. His voice reaches the companions who have seen warriors crushed beneath Ravana's arms and summons their strength back toward the king.
They charge. The power of the vanara host gathers with such force that Ravana recognizes what direct combat can no longer contain. His answer is not retreat, but a change in the substance of the battle.
He reveals deception. The field that has tested body against body is about to be filled with forms that do not belong to truth. Ravana turns from strength to appearance when strength is pressed beyond its measure. Yet the illusion arises only after Rama's call has gathered his servants forward. One power multiplies confusion from fear of defeat, while the other has already moved as the Lord's voice through those willing to answer it.
When Rama's summoned servants become too strong to meet directly, Ravana tries to make falsehood itself into an army.

तब रघुबीर पचारे धाए कीस प्रचंड। कपि बल प्रबल देखि तेहिं कीन्ह प्रगट पाषंड।।95।।
Then Lord Raghuvira called forth the fierce monkeys to charge. Seeing the overwhelming might of the monkey army, Ravana conjured his magical deception.
