The arrow has entered Meghnad's chest, and the sorcerer's forms no longer divide the field. In his final breath he asks, where is Rama's younger brother, and where is Rama?
The words may still carry the challenge of the warrior, yet the two names now occupy the mouth from which illusion has fallen. He releases his life while calling toward the very Lord and servant he fought.
Angada and Hanuman behold the fallen champion and praise the mother who bore him. Blessed, blessed is she. They do not deny his violence or restore his enmity. Valor receives honor at the instant combat is complete, and a dying enemy is allowed the dignity of the names upon his lips.
Meghnad's maya ends, and his last breath crosses the battlefield searching for Lakshmana and Rama.

'Where is Rama's brother? Where is Rama?' Speaking thus, Meghnad gave up his life. 'Blessed, blessed is your mother!' cried Angada and Hanuman.
