Lakshmana bows his head at Raghupati's feet. The warrior who has just vowed Meghnad's death first places the vow beneath the source of every strength he will carry.
Tulsidas names him Ananta, the infinite Shesha who supports the worlds. That cosmic foundation now departs at once in the form of Rama's younger brother, bow prepared for a hidden cave and an enemy guarded by sacrifice.
Angada, Nila, Mayanda, Nala, and mighty Hanuman move with him. The small company joins princely wrath, ancient divinity, vanara force, and complete service in one advancing line. Behind them remains Rama's main army. Ahead waits the rite that must be broken before the demon who seems unconquerable can be faced.
Ananta bows before the feet he eternally serves, then carries the weight of worlds toward Meghnad's cave.
