Meghnad mounts a chariot woven from maya. Wheels, steeds, warrior, and vehicle rise away from the visible field until the sky itself becomes his shifting place of attack.
From above comes a roar, followed by terrible laughter. The sound reaches the vanara army before any clear form can be found, giving fear a voice while denying it a body.
The host looks upward into concealment. Kumbhakarna's enormous presence could be seen, surrounded, and finally faced. Meghnad offers the opposite terror: power detached from location, mockery descending from an enemy hidden within illusion. His laughter begins the assault by making every part of the sky seem armed against those below.
Meghnad disappears into maya, and his laughter makes the empty sky feel crowded with enemies.
