Rama Places Lakshmana and the Army in Trusted Hands and Faces Kumbhakarna

Rama turns to Sugriva and Vibhishana while the broken vanara host streams around them. Look after the army, he says, and care for my younger brother.

The command places what is dearest within the hands of the king who serves him and the refugee who chose him. Rama does not abandon the wounded host when he steps beyond it. He secures it through trust.

I will behold the strength of this wicked enemy. The lotus eyed Lord speaks without boast and moves toward the solitary giant who has scattered millions. Kumbhakarna sought to make every creature friendless inside the violence of Time. Rama answers by arranging relationship before combat: brother, army, ally, and devotee held together behind him while he takes the danger upon himself.

Rama entrusts brother and army to love, then walks alone toward the strength that had made all others flee.
