Lakshmana Takes Rama's Leave and Walks Toward Meghnad

Lakshmana comes before Rama while the field still carries the residue of Meghnad's broken illusion. Angada and other vanara champions gather with him, ready to accompany the prince into the next movement of battle.
He asks the Lord for permission. The anger within him is not a solitary impulse released without order. Even with bow in hand and the enemy before him, Lakshmana places action beneath Rama's command.
Leave received, he turns toward the field carrying bow and arrows. The weapon rests in hands known for service, and wrath moves within the shelter of obedience. Around him the vanaras advance as companions rather than spectators. Meghnad has challenged Rama's camp with death and illusion. Now Rama's younger brother walks out to answer, not ahead of the Lord's will but sent by it.
Lakshmana enters the duel only after anger has bowed, received Rama's permission, and risen with the bow.
