Mandodari counts what pride can no longer hide. Two sons are dead, and the city that seemed beyond every enemy has burned. Loss has already entered the royal house and crossed the streets of Lanka in flame.
Even now, beloved, return Sita. The words make the present instant a threshold rather than a sentence already sealed. Ravana can still end the wrong, turn away from the field forming outside, and carry Janaki honorably back toward Rama.
Worship Raghunath, the ocean of mercy, and receive stainless renown. Mandodari does not offer mere survival or a smaller throne. She places before Ravana a glory cleansed by surrender, one the world could remember without the smoke of abduction. Mercy remains greater than the accumulated crime, but it cannot be received by the heart that refuses to turn.
Between two dead sons and a burned city, Mandodari keeps one unburned path open toward Rama's mercy.

Two of your sons have been slain and your city has been burned. Even now, my beloved, return Sita. Worship Raghunath, the ocean of mercy, and win untarnished glory, O my lord!
